Before our 100th anniversary on February 18, 2028, the Landmark Theatre Centennial Campaign will allow us to complete the restoration of our beloved Landmark Theatre. We have already undergone significant transformations improving our guest experience and accessibility and investing in our infrastructure.
The Landmark Theatre has been the center of cultural life in Syracuse since it opened as the Loew’s State in 1928. When the theatres that lined Salina Street were lost in the 1960s and 70s, this is the theatre the community rallied to save.
Today, the Landmark is the largest theatre in Central New York, a destination for concerts, comedians, family shows, and touring Broadway productions. With investments from individuals, foundations, businesses, and government, the Landmark welcomes over 150,000 guests per year, enlivening our streets and businesses.
By completing the theatre restoration, we will make the Landmark an even more attractive destination. As our community changes, we strive to have a theatre that is a gathering place for experiencing art, and economic driver, a monument to our history, and a gift to our future.
